with wood, stone and other indigenous materials every day in his South
Dade)STudio. Here he can take ideas (often vague and

1995, Barry was involved with the construction of his parent's home in Coconut
Grove using indigenous materials i.e.; coral rock, Dade County pine wood and
other local hardwoods. This 2,200 sq. ft. addition to his parents existing 1912
rock and pine bungalow features a unique spiral staircase encased in an acrylic
tower, rising from the ground-floor living room to the master bedroom. Each step

Since 1975, Barry has produced a line of gift items, awards and furniture using
local materials. Just to name a few, his creations include puzzles, book- ends,
thing pins, and furniture of Dade County pine; bowls, brushes, bird feeders and
planters using the coconut; and furniture, walking sticks and veneers from the
palms of South Florida.
